Branching Out Burnley is led by John Sansom, an experienced primary school teacher and school sports coordinator with years of experience in outdoor education, physical activity, and child development. John combines his teaching expertise with specialist training in outdoor learning and adventurous activities to provide safe, engaging, and curriculum-linked experiences for schools.

Qualified Teacher

– Qualified teacher with many years of experience of working at both KS1 and KS2.

PE Specialist

– After over a decade of leading PE in a school he has also worked as a school sports coordinator delivering staff training in many schools across Burnley and East Lancashire.

Outdoor Instructor

– Experience of working at local outdoor centres delivering activity sessions to not only primary and secondary aged children but also different types of adult groups.
